The Lynnfield Cultural Council (LCC) is a group of local volunteers appointed by the Town Selectmen to re-grant funds provided to us by the Mass Cultural Council (MCC), a state agency that receives funding from the Massachusetts State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. The MCC's Local Cultural Council Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation. 329 local councils like ours serve all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns. This makes us just a few of the 2400 locally appointed volunteers who distribute more than $3 million in grants each year across the Commonwealth, bringing community-based Arts, History, Science, Literature, and Ethnic Diversity programs to all. Our active LCC is committed to enhancing the cultural offerings within Lynnfield in many other ways. We are here to help promote events and to encourage cross-collaboration between in-town organizations. We aim to build and support a community of local artists. Finally, we hope to find innovative ways to celebrate the many diverse cultures that are represented within our town.
